John McCain’s Strategy

Sen. John McCain today announced Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential candidate, calling her “the running mate who can best help me shake up Washington.”

In other words, the running mate who can best help him get the woman vote. Suck it, McCain.

  1. Maybe – pandering is part of politics. Palin is also a VERY good choice as a Republican VP candidate though. Forget her gender for a moment. She embodies a lot of the principles that the Republicans have strayed from over the years.

take out the politics – she’s pretty badass.

Former beauty queen, former high school basketball star who broke her ankle in the state semi finals but played on one leg in the finals, former commercial fisher(man?), avid ice fisher and hunter, owns and flies her own float plane, and when told her child was going to be born with down syndrome and was offered the chance to abort ‘him’ before ‘he’ was born she said “what really is normal anyways?” and kept him.

Her and obama have the same amount of experience so that’s off the table now, except i don’t believe Sarah Palin voted “present” on anything….

    And she’s a VPILF!

  3. I don’t find her all that appealing (wow, a beauty queen? thank god, we need one in the white house). Pro-life, pro-oil, pro-creationism, anti-environment, anti-same-sex-marriage. She sucks. But I wouldn’t vote for that ticket, regardless, because McCain sucks.

I won’t get into her not aborting her child because that’s an incredibly PERSONAL decision, as it SHOULD be.

Kerri Strug for president. After all, she landed on one leg after her vault, lol.

I believe i started out by saying – taking out the politics, obviously none of that stuff has anything to do with her as a candidate. Just like McCain being in a box for 3 years in Vietnam has nothing to do with politics. Just ilke Obama being black has nothing to do with him as a candidate. And just like Biden being old….oh well you missed my point – she’s a pretty tough woman.

So you believe there is a relation between ones hobbies and political views? Besides the obvious one, one who hunts supporting the 2nd amendment, any other examples of hobbies carrying over into political views?

  6. My initial thought on that was that the policies of someone speaks to their character. For instance, if Ms. Palin is against same-sex marriage, then I find her bigoted. If she’s anti-choice, then I find her sexist, inflexible, authoritarian, etc.

In terms of hobbies, jobs, etc., I think it’s a lot more obvious than you realize. For instance, artists, writers, journalists, etc. would tend to want a government that allows freedom of expression. Entrepreneurs would want a government that allows them the opportunity to establish their businesseses. Women/Other minorities would want a govt that allows them the opportunity to work and play freely (good thing women now have the opportunity to play basketball). This is just some stuff off the top of my head.
